For lovers of cabaret and Broadway musicals, Kelly Krauter’s “Rosie’s Turn” stands in a light where few can follow. Teetering on a pinnacle between brilliant and silly, this show about a Broadway wanna-be and a tap-dancing subway rat that steals her thunder is masterfully crafted and deliciously danced and sung by Krauter, who is not only a musical revelation all her own, but also bears an amazing resemblance to Liza Minnelli. Loaded with sight gags and Broadway/show tune Easter eggs, “Rosie’s Turn” is not to be believed. Do yourself a favor and go with a friend because without someone to witness this show with you, you’ll never be able to find the words to explain to anyone how fantastic this show is. Rosie’s Turn does the thing most solo shows only dream of—it provides belly laughs, surprises, goosebumps, and yes, tears. Kelly Krauter is a force to be reckoned with as she nails the vaudevillian-washed-up-cabaret-singer comedy genre, while also delivering moments of human drama that are profoundly moving. Her INCREDIBLE singing comes as a generous surprise — what starts as a campy retelling of a tale we may be somewhat familiar with, then reveals itself to be something truly new as the whole thing is turned on its head, and delivered with the highest level of technical skill, like it’s easy for her. The Fringe is very lucky to have this show as a part of their season. ...

I was entertained from strart to finish. A one woman show about a Hollywood starlet with a lot of singing is a tough sell, but when I say Kelly sold it, I am underselling it, because it exceeded all expectations. Completely original storyline with a unique and hilarious take on the classic story. Plus, Kelly is such a magnetic performer she makes it hard to even blink for fear of missing a facial expression or joke.
Her writing is sharp and witty. And that VOICE? Broadway caliber filled with emotion and power. I was blown away by this performance! Fantastic....
