A delightful crowd pleasure with lots of silliness, fun, and touching moments. It was refreshing to see gender roles reversed with silliness like alpha female cowboys “not having emotions” and male librarians with “too many emotions”. Then, there is singing and dancing to-boot! A frenetic, endlessly funny show that juggles gender roles like a sleight of hand artist would juggle a colorful deck of cards. The cast really brings it all together with delightfully over-the-top performances that perfectly compliment the lighthearted events that unfold. Highly recommend adding this one to your fringe lineup right after the most somber show you're planning on catching this season. Extremely charming! I already thought the gender reversal elements were clever, but including a diegetic gender-swap inside a story where the roles were already gender-swapped was genuinely inspired. Very excited for next year's sheriff election.... full review

This show was magic to me! Not only did I get to experience an honest to goodness parody of an old-timey Melodrama, but Suzanne Seyfi's smart and hilarious script made sure that if you had NEVER seen a Melodrama before, you would still enjoy the heck out if this show. Every member of the cast was chewing the scenery with vigor. I was absolutely delighted by this family friendly romp. I can't wait to see what this ensemble does next, but I hope Pining at the Prickly Pear Patch has another life post Fringe.... full review
