I was unfamiliar with this play, so can't know what Colleen Hammond Whitmore cut from it - but I'm certain it wasn't anything critical, as the play seemed complete as it is in its hour long incarnation. It's loads of fun and laughs. Great cast and acting. Very glad to learn about this play and see Whitmore do her thing of finding the very essence of a play and sharing it with us....

CHW Productions does a stellar job throughout all of their shows to maintain the ethos and fundamental essence of each respective "Classic" work. Tartuffe in 60 is no different, the story moves along in a fast clip, aided by delightful acting and direction. The barebones set and quirky costuming allow for the audience to intuit their imagination in to what seems to be a crowded familial estate. The truncated writing loses zero punch and keep the audience engaged. The 6/12 cast was very strong, translating the hilarity of the writing to the modern day. An hour throughly well spent. ...

For those unfamiliar with the work of French playwright, Moliere, CHW Productions is offering up an homage to him with their show, "Tartuffe in 60 Minutes" at the Hobgoblin.
Packed with physical comedy and period-dialogue, the show speeds through the story of the infamous imposter and his rise and fall with Orgon and his family....

The lie is that this show actually ran at something like 55 minutes, which is crazy given how much content is packed in there. If you're a fan of Moliere and enjoy impressively swift entrances and exits, and dizzying back-and-forths, this may be your show!...
