I appreciated the physical comedy quite a bit. Because farce leans into the absurd, the over-the-top nature of the physicality played out well.
The stand out performer for me was Gregg Ellson’s Orgon. He was absolutely excellent! Kudos must also go to his supporting cast mates Rafael Granados as Cleante and Shalan Raabe as Dorine. Morever, hurray for diverse casting across the board!
What I didn't like
While I understand the purpose of this company is to produce classic shows in only 60 minutes, the show lacked clarity for me. With so many characters, I wanted a better way to identify who’s who at the top.
My overall impression
For those unfamiliar with the work of French playwright, Moliere, CHW Productions is offering up an homage to him with their show, “Tartuffe in 60 Minutes” at the Hobgoblin.
Packed with physical comedy and period-dialogue, the show speeds through the story of the infamous imposter and his rise and fall with Orgon and his family.
