This very intimate and, dare I say, charming new play by Spencer Waldner deals with very personal issues, but never approaches, even in the slightest, on TMI. It does, however, reveal and poignant and beautifully written story, with Mr. Waldner giving a mesmerizing, elegant and simple performance. ... full review

With Spencer Waldner’s “Daddy Issues” a star is not just born, he is fully realized. Waldner’s analysis of analysis balances being both introspective and outward looking, awkward but familiar, deeply moving and genuinely hilarious. As a performer, Waldner is fully committed to being fully committed, and his natural magnetism keeps you hooked from the start. By holding a mirror to himself, he subsequently has the audience also look within themselves , and we all benefit from a bit of therapy. ... full review

I was spellbound; the play, DADDY ISSUES, put me in mind of great American writers like William Saroyan and Eugene O’Neill. This play reveals an authentic new national treasure.... full review

I laughed, I cried (twice), and I was so blown away, I saw it three times. It's interesting how it hit me different every time, but I think that's a testament to Spencer's writing and performance. Although we had polar opposite upbringings, I couldn't help but see myself up there. The journey I went on with Spencer inspired me to continue doing the honest work and reflecting it takes to find peace within oneself. I highly recommend this show. Be prepared to laugh your ass off.... full review

This was one of the most captivating one-person shows I've seen in a long time. With just a chair, two lighting cues, and a mask, Spencer built an entire world through sheer talent and imagination. He is a fantastic story teller and I hope as many people as possible get the chance to experience it at the Edinburgh Fringe. ... full review

Last Sunday night I had the privilege of watching Spencer Waldner’s *Daddy Issues* — and I left genuinely moved. As writer, director, and performer, Spencer carries the full weight of this story, and he does so with remarkable grace. The dialogue is sharp and thought-provoking, the kind that lingers long after the lights go down. What struck me most is the sheer bravery it takes to put something this personal on a stage. Spencer isn't just performing — he's inviting you into his own exploration and growth, and that vulnerability is exactly what makes it so captivating and engrossing. If you haven't seen *Daddy Issues* yet, go. If you have already had the joy of seeing this performance, go again (as I am tonight) — some stories dese... full review

Daddy Issues is both as introspective, personal and vulnerable, as it is extrospective. Spencer not only manages to invite you into some of the most personal moments of his life but through his work advertently holds a mirror to the audience, inciting them to reflect on their own journey of acceptance and walking in one's truth. A healing body of work, his very own 'Lemonade' (yes, this is a Beyonce reference), if you will.... full review

Spencer Waldner is one great actor and he knows it. In a very unassuming style of delivery, Waldner forces full control on his breath as he changes intention or character. Solid acting work, solid writing, this play got the legs to go on and on.... full review
