The Secrets of Uvhash-Ra

"The Secrets of Uvhash-Ra" is a captivating ride, full of mystery, lore, romance, suspense, and all things spooky and cool. I'm a huge fan of adventure, choose-your-own-path video games like Life Is Strange and the Dark Picture anthology, and "The Secrets of Uvhash-Ra" had a similar quality, where as an audience member, I felt like I was along for the journey of "the secrets" that lurked in the school hallways of the play. When the show ended, I found myself wanting more! I loved Kate Schaefer's writing and I can easily see "The Secrets of Uvhash-Ra" both on stage with sequels and also filmed as an episodic. Academia romance meets the Dark Pictures anthology, Kate Shaefer’s ambitious debut packs a lot of plot and characters into its short runtime, and while the story may be better suited to a screenplay, miniseries, or interactive format, it’s still an entertaining show. There are moments of good dramatic tension and some really witty dialogue, but the need to push the plot forward (again due to the constraints of the runtime) doesn’t let us spend much time getting to know the characters deeply. Despite this, the show has a talented cast and some really creative technical components.
