About the Project
An adaptation of The Dumb Waiter set in late 1970’s New York City.
The one act is a “comedy of menace” featuring two “contract” men, Ben and Gus, waiting in a sparse basement room for instructions. As they await their target, tension builds through nonsensical food orders arriving via a dumbwaiter from an unseen boss. The play explores themes of authority, alienation, and absurdity… ending with a surprising revelation.
