This was an enjoyable production. Now, I'm a firm believer in "show, don't tell," and this script is four individuals recalling the same series of events from their own perspectives (all "tell", no "show"), so this wasn't quite my type of show. That being said, the performances were good, the individual character arcs were interesting (if a bit one-dimensional) and the script had humor and charm. So check it out! ... full review

Interesting account of today's society, its views on women, and the almighty dollar. Touching, funny and an interesting way of story telling from four different perspectives. I wasn't sure what to expect from a play about a pen, but this show was great! The four female characters were well thought out and developed. They each had individual arcs that really connected with me. I think my favorite character is Roxanne, I really connected with her story. That was the thing, I didn't expect to find an emotional connection in a 50 minute comedy, but it was there. The first half of the show is rather intensive, but the second half just flies by and you're laughing all the way. I really can't recommend this show enough! Plus my husband really enjoyed it, so it's not just for the ladies.... full review

The Other F Word, Alyson Mead's quick witted and smart play about four women who meet at a focus group isn't exactly the average 25 year old male's cup of tea... but I enjoyed it. Director Danielle Ozymandias relies on simplicity to get the job done, and all four talented actresses seem to have fun with Mead's tight script. The show runs a little bit over the 45 minutes that's stated in the program, and it could probably be tightened to even a half hour. But if you just want to relax and enjoy a simple, but well organized, well rehearsed piece of theatre, this show is for you. ... full review

I love stories, in theatre, books, movies and TV shows. Though I didn't know what to expect, I was happy that the playwright, actors and creative team obviously took their time with this show. The writing and direction were really sharp and funny, and the actors did a great job portraying their characters. Four women talking about a pen made for ladies (how did they come up with that great idea?) Was more than entertaining all the way through, My friend and I laughed a lot. Go to this show if you like to giggle and think at the same time.... full review

Wow. All I can say is... wow! I laughed to much today!! Loved this, loving the whole "fringe" thing. Honestly, as a new yorker, I had heard that Hollywood wasn't on par...and I can tell you- that's not true! Very much looking forward to the rest of June :) ... full review

As a guy this one got me thinking without ever being preachy or overly pushy. Its a very funny play and we both had a great time, and then talked about it afterwards too. Best one I've seen in the fringe so far. I hadn't thought about it before but after seeing it I got to say that I'm a feminist too now. Yeah I said it.... full review

This play was a lot of fun and really is worth checking out. The content and format are refreshing and enjoyable. At its roots, it's a short play about the ironic, momentary connection found through four women participating in a ridiculous focus group on feminine pens. Slim, pink, girly pens designed for women who apparently can't bear the weight of writing with a medium pointed black BIC. The playwright Alyson Mead and director Danielle Ozymandias do an excellent job of expanding a very simple concept into a larger conversation about what feminism is, and how it relates to all different types of women. While all the actors are fairly strong Maikiko James and Tiffany Royale tend to shine a little brighter with their characters. ... full review
