LOVED it! Go see this show! A beautifully written and performed show that will remind Americans not to take freedom for granted. Mozhdeh takes the audience into the world of an Iranian artist, a close up view of censorship and the rigid, controlling treatment of women. Subtle and direct at the same time. More people need to see this show!! Go. ...

Mozhdeh Rahmanzaei gives a very personal account of the personal struggles of an actor who is trying to grow in a country that severely limits creative endeavors. Reminiscent of the story of the graphic novel Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, her path through life is fraught with obstacles. "Freedom in Limbo" is a disturbing, moving, and necessary autobiographical solo play by Mozhdeh Rahmanzaei. Through her own story, from her early years defending her artistic aspirations in Iran to very unfavorable parents, to her battle for an education in the U.S. and her fight to stay in the country, Rahmanzaei gives a voice to the students silenced in her home country. When I received the email from the HFF asking if "I enjoyed the production of.....?", I cannot say that I enjoyed FREEDOM IN LIMBO. The intensity of this production are not to be enjoyed - rather it takes us on a journey through fear, rejection, oppression, abuse, invalidation but most of all COURAGE. Are these things to be enjoyed? No. However, are these things we must embrace, support, honor, and understand? Absolutely. FREEMDOM IN LIMBO begins before it begins - showing us the realities being a woman, creative, actor, immigrant in a country whose politics are designed to obliterate all three. Iran - 2026? Welcome to America - 2026 - where safety can no longer be found....
