Hilarious and intelligent autobiographical drag. The costumes and props are to die for, alongside lots of really sharp use of Spanish. And of course Vico is a total star, as anyone familiar with their work will attest. There's a section near the start that uses a lot of astrology - not really something I know much about, but Vico did a good job explaining it. This is a really poignant and at times surreal expedition through a vibrant, trans mixed-race life. ...

Vico is an absolute delight to watch on stage, bringing an incredible blend of energy and vulnerability to their performance! This piece serves as a powerful encapsulation of their gender journey, highly personal yet universally relatable. Their writing is a masterful mix of humor and heartfelt emotion, making it both funny and poignant.

Funny. Heartfelt. Real. Vico Ortiz shared their life story about growing up not fitting into the gender binary. Through monologues, music, comedy, sexiness, silliness, and, of course, drag, they brought the audience to laughter and tears. Themes of gender, sexuality, race, religion, family, and self discovery weave intricate threads together to create the fabric of Vico’s show. Then, they flaunted that fabric of their life across the stage. A well deserved standing ovation. ...

While we expected it to be funny and edgy and wild, what stuck me was how sweet the story at the core was, and the journey they take with their mother is really touching....

I was fully expecting a funny engaging show. I was not expecting a deep conversation with self, indentity, motherhood, and childhood. Incredible!! Vico is an absolute treasure, made the night feel like a personal conversation. ...

love them & the trans story
It was very cool. Fun & informative. I was literally the only guy in the audience. It's a trans story and i had very little real understanding of or gave much thought too. Besides my core belief there's a place in this world for all of us and we all deserve to be honored for who we are.
The universal journey to discovering who you are & who you're not, to your parents, peers and yourself is familiar territory as a queer human. I liked taking their ride. ...
