What I liked

I’ve already gushed about Mandy’s writing in my summary, but it is worth repeating because she has really put together something special. She gives life to these character’s in such a real way while also heightening them to universal levels. She then has directed the show in a way that never gives you the chance to stop caring or paying attention. The cast meets her there perfectly, stepping up to the plate to bring these characters to life. There is not a weak beat amongst them.

What I didn't like

It could be given a bigger, higher profile run with more money!

My overall impression

Mandy Rubeli has once again blown me away with her honest, personable, insane, and brilliant writing. She is somehow able to turn surreal ideas into accurate, specific, and touching examinations of what it means to be human. All Cats Go to Hell is an awesome, funny, deep, cartoonish, and emotional play about friendship, growing up, and mortality. I hope we all get the chance to see it again because Rubeli has really put out “another banger”.
