This show is about believing in yourself no matter what other people say. Even though this piece needs lots of work (one problem being her statistics which a lot of people are not going to agree with) she succeeded in pulling me in and respecting her bravery. Having a show of my own at the fringe and being addicted to reading reviews, I am sometimes tempted to become distracted with popular opinion - but this isn't, or in my opinion shouldn't be the primary reason why we make the art we make. Some are going to love what ya do and some will hate what you do and they're always going to be disagreements about the truth, but Whore Logic taught me to withstand criticism and own who I am. Akynos is a woman who truly knows who she is, and that comes out strongly in this show. Her talent as a burlesque dancer is undeniably, and her routines were far and above the best I have ever seen. I didn't know what to expect from this show, but I'm glad I took the chance to check it out. Unfortunately, I attended her final show at this year's Fringe, but hopefully she will be back. If she does come back, don't miss the chance to catch her act.... full review
