One Up: The Musical is one of my all time favorite musicals I've seen at Fringe, ever. Every moment of this production was vibrant, thoroughly enjoyable and a sight to see. From the fabulous writing about an underdog intern becoming the star in her own life and others (performed brilliantly by Alanna Hernandez), to the magnificent songbook which I was singing to myself as I was leaving the theatre, to the spectacular cast (truly, one of the best ensembles I've seen all Fringe), this is a must-see for anyone and everyone. Enjoyable for all ages. I can easily see this on Broadway, and I hope One Up catapults to this level up, and more!... full review

One Up the Musical is a laugh-out-loud, theatrical joyride. Created and produced by the immensely talented Mary Bonney and Weslie Lechner — this show is a living, breathing example of what happens when heart meets hustle. The direction, pacing, and comedic timing were all dialed in, with every transition seamless and the production value was next level. The entire cast know exactly how to hold a room, and every character embodied both sharp and delightfully absurd in the best way. And let’s talk about Eric Olsen. He’s a scene-stealer through and through: adorable, hysterical, and with timing that had the whole audience howling. One Up was so much fun! The music was catchy enough that I desperately want to listen to it again on Spotify/iTunes/wherever music is streaming! The costumes and choreography were on point. The story was a bit simple, but that worked beautifully for an hour-long musical. I'm not even a gamer but I followed along just fine. My partner, a software engineer, got very stressed when they discussed coding and deadlines, which just speaks to how well they nailed the authenticity.
