“One Up: The Musical” is a marvelously hilarious delight from start to finish. The book and lyrics are wonderfully woven with heart and humor. The characters are distinct and dynamic, each elevating the energy in their own unique way. The music is all amazing with the full gamut of ‘80s synthwave sounds on glorious display. The audience was clapping along and laughing loudly throughout. From the choreography to the costumes, the show is super dialed in and I hope everyone gets the chance to see it! It was a great show with all the necessary components for an exciting story. The music was fun packed with energetic '80s hits that not only set the tone but also moved the plot forward in a clever way.. Best musical of the fringe! The writing is awesome and so so funny, great jokes, I dont think I stopped giggling once the show started I was just so delighted by what I was seeing. The music! Omg the music was incredible, such a strong soundtrack and the songs are so catchy. The acting is awesome—the fun the actors are having on stage is so contagious. Wow wow wow. This musical was so well executed! I'm not a video game person so I wasn't sure I would be able to relate to the story, but this show is about following your dreams and finding your people which anyone can relate to. The songs were so catchy and the dialogue was hilarious, I really think this show has legs, and I sincerely hope someone gives them money to produce it on a larger scale.
