What I liked
Both performers understand every angle of this kind of clown work. clowning isn’t something I often seek out but am so glad I saw this show. It’s pure storytelling and the direction and acting nailed it.
What I didn't like
While I LOVE when the characters spoke in those specifically chosen moments. The “let me out” seemed a little too ‘on the nose’ (pun not intended) to get into the under pressure of it all. There were a couple times where the card metaphors confused me, but only a couple times. I was able to follow most if it.
My overall impression
52 Pick Up is clever, inventive, touching and well executed. Beautiful job.
