What I liked

From the moment starts, Spencer beats on a bucket creating all the atmosphere you need. It’s always a cool thing to me when you get a group so committed to some marginalized style of music at the Hollywood Fringe. As a producer I’m sitting here thinking… How the hell did they find so many people capacity and desired to sing sea shanty?? I mean that alone deserves a lot of respect! Even if you’re weren’t a fan of it before, when confronted with such unflinching enthusiasm, one can’t help but become a devotee of that style. It’s got heart.

What I didn't like

Maybe not a show to watch if you’re hungover…but also not a show to watch completely sober. IMHO this communal concert would be even better suited if performed in a bar.

My overall impression

Kudos to all. It’s impossible not to get caught up in the fervor of this singular fringe experience. As the title says, this is a “concert” so you’re looking for a story, that’s not the point here, but if you’re looking to escape these hard times for a rousing hour of full-blooded commitment to a style of transportive traditional music with a side of character comedy, you’ll want to prioritize this show.
