Most dancers retire in their twenties. I started at 25, with no formal dance training. I never thought my childhood passion would be more than a hobby. Always a Dancer is a hilarious and heartfelt solo show about chasing a dream against all odds.
Using stand-up, sketch, movement, and fourth-wall-breaking humor, I take audiences through the highs and lows of pursuing dance in Los Angeles. From getting cut at cattle call auditions to losing the passion and struggling with self-doubt, the show explores the moments of self-sabotage that made me question my path—and the journey of rekindling that spark and remembering why I started dancing in the first place.
Always a Dancer was developed under the guidance of Debra De Liso at USC and premiered at the 30 Minutes or Less Festival, where it was nominated for Best Solo Performance. This show continues to evolve, resonating with anyone who’s ever asked themselves: Is it too late for me? And the answer is always no.
