Eggs is a heartfelt show about a couple from different cultural backgrounds finding connections on the eve of the Nowruz (Persian New Year). Because one of the big themes of the play is about connections, it is imperative that the performers have a strong connection to each other, which makes it easier for the audience to connect to the show. They did this so wonderfully and seamlessly.
The audience of our show was with them every step of the way. There were audible laughs, gasps, and groans. It was such an enjoyable theatre going experience.
Most importantly, I feel like this play gives representation to two cultures who are too often dramatized by depictions of war and persecution. It's refreshing to see them just being human beings ...

I came to this show blind after reading the blurb and it far exceeded my expectations. This is a tight, well-written, absolutely hilarious, heartfelt show. But it’s so much deeper than the belly laughs. You can viscerally feel the pain both characters are carrying or hiding as they are both outsiders in different ways. Go see it before it ends! Highly, highly recommend. ...

Eggs is the perfect blend of heartfelt comedy meets the couple you absolutely love to love. Edward Mulryne and Sahar Yousefi are wonderfully paired and delightful to watch. I really enjoyed this piece from start to finish. Edward and Sahar had gorgeous chemistry, and the simplistic approach to their performance was my favorite. I also adored the ending....

There is a comfortable familiarity to the couple Eamon and Shaparak from the moment we first see them on stage. In the course of a night as they stay awake awaiting the Persian New Year, Nowruz, when they will call Shaparak’s mother in Iran at 3 in the morning, we hear them talk of their cultures, but also more mundane and sometimes silly topics such as farts, backgammon, and George of the Jungle 2. We learn that Shaparak is a woman of many words, and Eamon a man who prefers fewer. They talk, playfully banter, and occasionally fight about the small things. It is exactly this that sets the pace for the story, and makes the characters so believable and lovable....

I can't understate how important and relevant this show is today in this troubled political climate. Overall, I love any show that teaches me something about a different culture, as I had never heard about Nowruz before this play. The leads had adorable romantic chemistry; I definitely would have loved to watch more of their interactions. This is MUST SEE theatre that I would recommend to everyone. ...

Eamon and Shaparak invite us to spend an evening with them, as they prepare to celebrate Persian New Year in their flat. The give-and-take between them playfully reveals who and where they are as a couple, and as individuals. Their minor quibbles over shopping bags and what movies to stream are more relatable than any melodramatic secrets or resentments they harbor towards one another. Overall, the show is a pleasant and heartfelt ride through the current cross-culture experience....
