Michael Shaw Fisher, in his much-anticipated return to non-musical theatre, turns the ever-sturdy living room play roughly on its head, shakes the change from its pockets, steals its shirt, pants and shoes and sets off on a very funny, very angry, very bawdy romp around sexual politics all while savagely tarring and feathering the dire state of American society at large. "Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits" is a well-cast, whip-smart, laugh-a-minute, crowd-pleasing ride for this exact moment. A real joy. Pure entertainment start to finish. An exhilarating blast of unbridled energy from one of Hollywood Theatre Row's most important and enduring voices. ...

I respect the hell out of this play for courageously digging deep into the complex themes of romantic and sexual politics, holding nothing back. Michael Shaw Fisher’s writing is clever, sharp, and confident. The actors completely committed to the absolutely wild material and because of the complete commitment, I had a delightful experience at this play....

Anytime Michael Shaw Fisher puts up a new piece of work, I'm gonna be there. Why? Because I know what I'm gonna get is no-bullshit good theatre. Stellar acting. Mature dialogue. Precise directing. And that's exactly what you get with this play.
Without spoiling too much, what starts as a Albee-esque 1960's kitchen sink drama, ends up churning into a more sophisticated, more twisted, darker "Indecent Proposal".
It's a wild ride that, at times, feels like it's about to fly off the rails, but stays on track to a highly emotional landing. Clever and engaging the whole time. A very interesting piece of art exploring some of the darkest corners of the human experience.

This was an exciting hour of theatre. As a BIG fan of Albee this scratched a particular theatre itch that is not often scratched in a Fringe setting, while also hopping feet 1st in to real life power struggles in this time of have and have nots....

Hilarious, clever, each actor tears the roof of the place but the entire cast is generous. A wonderful ensemble where everything worked....

I loved the play. It asks the question "what could possibly happen when an ex's wife invites his ex-wife to dinner?" This play followed the premise further than you would think it could go in the mere hour allotted to a fringe show. The action evolves through every possible pairing of these distinctly different characters. Each twist and turn was a satisfying surprise. After a raucous and revealing evening, the ending was a touching and vulnerable moment....

In a festival often fueled by novelty, shock, or sheer velocity, Michael Shaw Fisher delivers something more dangerous: a play that is smart, sharp, and strikingly complete.
The Secret Sex Life of Rabbits is that rare Fringe piece that feels fully formed—precise in its construction, unafraid of its boldness, and deeply attuned to the moment. The premise might be loaded with provocation (it is), and the title might invite assumptions (it does), but what unfolds on stage is a tightly-written hour that wrestles with modern sexual politics, moral exhaustion, and the lies we tell ourselves—all with ferocity, wit, and a disarming emotional backbone.
Fisher’s return to non-musical theatre is not just a shift in format; it’s a leap in authorsh...
