While all four actresses were very strong – the lady playing Napoleon stood out.
What I didn't like
i think this play as so much potential and the script would do well at the hands of a comedic dramaturg. The crowd work happened to work pretty well today for the show – however – I could see it flopping and setting a weird vibe if not handled well. A little too much relied on that and honestly, the show didn’t need it. It’s funny on its own.
My overall impression
Napoleon’s Whore Sister has a cast of four women with incredible comedic timing and fully realized characters and performance. Hats off to the Prince who stepped into the role at today’s performance and NAILED IT. Loved the mix of modern and period. One of the more enjoyable experiences I’ve had at Fringe this year.
