Dionysius Vlachos makes no apologies about the uncomfortable topic of racism and shines a light on the harsh experiences of growing up mixed race in America. With fine acting by the massive cast, humor woven into some very heavy vignettes, and the personal touch of Dee’s monologues throughout, My Tiger is a compelling and inquisitive piece that leaves the audience asking questions about how they participate in the stereotypes (and deeper forms of oppression) that persist in this country.
