Having never seen plays before, I was very curious to see how this would play out. It was honestly a very true and interesting perspective on what it is like growing up mixed in America. They addressed a lot of relatable issues for feeling displaced in your identity amongst other issues like passive racism and expectations from others. I feel that even if you’re not walking in the shoes of the character Didi, you’re still able to understand the tones and moods of these situations. This play hit very close to home. As a Filipino American growing up in the white neighborhoods in Chicago, IL, there was moments in be play where I felt like I saw myself relive my childhood to adolescence. ...

This play is filled with heart and soul. Dee shares his personal journey with remarkable vulnerability, and it truly resonated with me. As a Mexican-American, I understand that experience of being judged or labeled based on your race—feeling like you're “not enough” of one thing or “too much” of another. Dee’s honest portrayal of moments where others questioned his identity, especially in dating and social situations—like being told he’s not Asian enough or too Asian—highlight how societal perceptions can deeply impact us. His openness sheds light on these often-unspoken struggles, making his story powerful and relatable. Thank you, Dee, for sharing your journey and inviting us into your world. These are important stories that stay with us....

An entertaining yet important and confrontational look at racism and bigotry in America. Di uses his personal story and history to give an accurate snapshot of the cultural landscape in the contemporary USA. This play pulls no punches, is very timely, and does not hold back on the brutal reality. This is what art should be right now....

Recommend! I thoroughly enjoyed this show. My Tiger is an authentic look at double racism and misunderstandings that occur when one is of mixed race that leaves the audience questioning the meaning of identity. Normally a complex topic, writer Dionysius Vlachos successfully manages to highlight different aspects of racism and makes it easily relatable. The narrator takes you through various aspects of life via a mixed race lens and uncovers the challenges of racism and bias that can occur at different life stages. It shows the complexity of looking like one race on the outside but being of a different race on the inside, while others pressure you to choose one. An honest piece that allows the audience to come to its own understanding of ra...

This is an important conversation about the Asian-American experience that is scarcely being talked about. The play balances humor with drama and I found myself leaning forward as the intensity of the performances gripped me on this wild vignette style ride. It also lends itself to key perspectives that I hadn't known as a white person. ...

I’ve known Dee (Didi) for years and the highest praise I can give My Tiger is this is one of the most raw and authentic lenses into someone’s life I’ve ever seen.
The vulnerability, courage and drive to create a show like this should be celebrated and I couldn’t be more proud of what this cast and crew has accomplished.
I highly recommend that anybody that seeks art that gives a deeper human connection between audience and author watches this show.
