About the Project

Tiger people are aggressive, courageous, candid and sensitive. Look to the Horse and Dog for happiness. Beware of the Monkey. – Placemat at Panda Inn

Starting in the rural suburbs of Philadelphia, My Tiger follows a young mixed race boy as he grows into his adulthood. It is an examination of the mixed race experience in America, and the price people pay for their identity.

Dionysius “Dee” Vlachos

Writer/Actor (Didi)

Zodiac Sign: Tiger

Dee is a writer/actor from the Philadelphia suburbs. He received his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his masters from Savannah College of Art and Design. He currently works as an audio engineer for Warner Bros. You can also find him on his YouTube channel “Courageous Eater”, where he explores interesting restaurants around Los Angeles.

Anna Cassady

Producer

Zodiac Sign: Dog

Anna Cassady is a writer and director based in Los Angeles. Originally from the mountainous city of Guiyang, China, she began her filmmaking journey upon moving to the U.S. in 2012. Her feature scripts have been selected for festivals such as the Austin Film Festival and Slamdance. Anna received her MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Davis Barber

Producer

Zodiac Sign: Boar

As an actor, Davis Barber thrives in roles of sloppy or sarcastic parents, politicians, and CEOs. He parallels the likes of Lenny Briscoe and Oscar Madison with a dash of Logan Roy. In real life he produces small-room live performances, including plays, table reads, presentations and workshops. His hobbies are coffee roasting, bicycling and making his kids cringe.

Davis recently played Mr. Dussel in The Diary of Anne Franke for Phantom Projects, and played Doyle in The Nether during the 2023 Hollywood Fringe season.

Stan Zhu

Stan Zhu is an actor based in Los Angeles, originally from Chengdu, China. Stan has graduated from the Performing Arts Program at Savannah College of Art and Design. He has performed in over fifty films and several plays, including Moonlake, Kill the Roses, Cannibal: The Musical, and Marian: the True Tale of Robin Hood. Stan has won four acting awards and his work has gotten into multiple international film festivals, including China Golden Rooster Award, Lift-Off Tokyo, and Los Angeles Shorts.

Anshu Zeng Yuan

Born and raised in mainland China, Anshu Zeng Yuan followed the traditional expectations of an Asian family and earned an engineering degree, only to leave it all behind in pursuit of a lifelong dream in filmmaking. This journey lead to Los Angeles, the world’s biggest dream factory. Anshu’s works have won awards and been selected at IMDb-qualifying and Canadian Screen-qualifying film festivals, including Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival, Asian Film Festival, Chinese American Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, and more. With a heart set on storytelling, Anshu strives to turn life into a journey as magical as The Alchemist.

Lonnie Sugarman

Actor (Dad, Otis)

Lonnie Sugarman was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up as a 3 sport athlete in his early life and played competitively until age 30. He then coached and officiated sports professionally. He’s proud to have started one of the first youth hockey programs in the San Gabriel Valley. A man of many talents, he also shows off his culinary skills in Italian cuisine. Following a life changing health scare, Lonnie decided to chase another dream and started acting. He’s appeared in popular feature films and TV shows. He is now studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and continues to grow both as a person and an actor as he pursues his new calling.

Rollence Patugan

Rollence Patugan was last seen as Leontes in The Winter’s Tale at Pasadena City College Theater. Friends and family speculate that he may still be in character. His dream role would be to portray someone addicted to chocolate chip cookies confidently claiming he would be a shoe-in for the part. He is deeply grateful to Dee and Anna for the chance to return to the stage, engaging with themes that are often discussed behind closed doors. His passion for storytelling and advocacy for meaningful dialogue serve as motivating factors behind his work.

Alison Iles

Alison Iles is a Peruvian-American Actress and Singer based in Los Angeles. With years of experience at Speiser Sturges, Lesly Kahn, and Berg Studios. Alison has produced and acted in several short and feature films. You can see Alison in Glass Casa, on AppleTV and other streaming platforms.

Richmond Keeling

Richmond Keeling is an actor from Houston, Texas. He spends his time acting in small soap operas and performing as an extra in larger productions. Richmond is excited to be a part of all things creative and to help others bring their visions to life.

Ida May

Actor (Principal)

Ida grew up in Children’s Theater and then studied acting with Sanford Meisner. She was a member of two theater companies and a few tv/film projects before taking a hiatus to raise her sons. Having recently returned she has made 7 short films and My Tiger will be her 5th theater production in the past year. She is very excited to be in this production and to help tell this story.

Moimoi Gilmore

Moimoi Gilmore is an Actor/Writer from West Valley City, Utah. Leaving the snowy roads was one of the best decisions he has made. He had his theatrical debut in Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga Part One, was recently a part of Hollywoodland Holiday by Jubilee Theatre Company, and has studied at Anthony Meindl’s Studio. He believes live theatre is a timeless expression of life and is stoked to be a part of My Tiger.

Maya Viloria

Actor (Jen)

Maya Viloria is a SAG-Eligible actress, born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. She moved to Los Angeles around 3.5 years ago to pursue her dreams of acting. Her hobbies include Taiko drumming, chess, singing, and creative writing. Represented by Image Powerhouse Agency (Theatrical), Jenny Stricklin Talent Agency (Commercial), and Bliss Models and Talent (Hawaii Rep), Maya has been working hard to make her dreams a reality. She’s very grateful for the chance to work on any type of acting project and is very excited to be a party of the cast in My Tiger.

Preston Sabharwal

Preston is a Los Angeles based actor who received specialized training at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and was classically trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA, and is currently in pre-production for the upcoming independent comedy film “Indecent Goodbyes”, where he’ll play the lead character of Hugh, a quick witted, introspective student at a small liberal arts college who is struggling with the prospect of breaking up with his girlfriend of seven years.

Andrew Yanker

Andrew is an actor, standup comedian, screenwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. He grew up in New York City, Tucson, and Venice Beach. He enjoys playing characters from all walks of life, from everyman dads to raucous vilians. Recently, you can see him in “When a Righteous Man Falls”. He also plays an arms dealer and fighter pilot in “The Jet” on Apple TV. His script “Frat Baby” was a quarter finalist in the Fresh Voices screenplay competition. When he’s not acting, he loves writing, yoga, creating characters, and writing music. 

Elise Ma

Actor (Vivian)

Elise Ma is a member of SAG with experience in film and a growing passion for theatre. Her spirit roles would parallel Maggie Cheung in “In the Mood for Love”, Rosamund Pike in “Gone Girl”, or Greta Lee in “Past Lives”. She is represented by Aqua Talent for commercials and is looking for a theatrical rep to expand her horizons. Elise trains with Annie Grindlay and Robert D’Avanzo and is continuing to sharpen her improv chops with the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Out in the wild, you’ll find her rock climbing, paragliding, or riding her motorcycle. She will most likely stop to smell the roses and stealthily observe any critter in sight. She is excited to bring Vivian to life in My Tiger. 

Gwendolyn Joyce

Actor (Kim)

Zodiac Sign: Tiger

Gwendolyn began her acting career at age 6 as the lead racoon in Little Red Riding Hood at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany. Many moves later, she is now based in Los Angeles. She recently completed the 2 year Meisner program at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio and is ecstatic to be making her Hollywood Fringe debut in My Tiger. She is an avid horse girl and enjoys traveling whenever she has the chance.

Jay Kim

Actor (Peter)

Zodiac Sign: Sheep

Jay is a Korean-American actor from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He took a couple of intro improv classes at IO Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He enjoys comedy, but is looking to broaden his horizons and become a more versatile actor. He shot a short film last summer, First Edition, which is currently being submitted to festivals. He is currently training with Michael Petted at the Hudson Theatre and hopes to continue his pursuit of acting full time.

Nick Enea

Originally from San Jose, Nick Enea took the scenic route to LA: a BFA from UC Santa Barbara, a few stamps on the passport, and plenty of roles that taught him how to listen louder than he speaks. Nick is a proud member of Arts for Change, a nonprofit touring troupe that brings Holocaust education to schools and the public through the play SURVIVORS by Wendy Kout. He recently performed at local theaters including La Mirada Theatre, and Long Beach Shakespeare, as well as internationally with the Verona Shakespeare Fringe Festival in Italy and Prague Shakespeare Company in the Czech Republic. He is grateful to be participating alongside many talented artist at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
