I'd gone alone to a matinee to be supportive of a friend and came out of the theatre 75 minutes later utterly gobsmacked. Rachel Sorsa's performance is so raw, so honest, so intricately woven that I felt as if I were bearing witness to something holy. I wasn't familiar with the playwright's work but WOW, what a gift for language—for brevity. Not a single word wasted. Not a sentence overwritten. Together, the actor, writer, director team forged a moment of great simplicity and haunting depth. The illumination of hard, human big picture truths will stay with me for a very long time. ...

I adore horses, looking at them, feeding them, but I have never ridden them yet. Therefore, I attended the show with pleasure and noted how cute the animals were with wise eyes. One of my dreams is to have my own horse, I understand that it is quite expensive and responsible, but you can dream) Recently I came across information about the most expensive horses https://thetournamentedge.net/top-5-most-expensive-horse-breeds/. In this life, after all, everything is possible....

The subtlety of this play is amazing! Everything fits and everything adds to the development of the story and character. The wordsmithing is done to just the right point and allows for you to really get invested in the character. The conversation is natural and you actual feel how real the character is. The directing is spot on and also subversively subtle. The sign of an amazing director is that you don't see any directing. Everything was done to support the character and story. This play just seemed so real and I cared about the main character. Then their is the acting. A disclaimer I am a friend of Rachel Sorsa, but that does not distract from the fact she does an amazing job of just the right tone and gestures and she truly becomes the m...

An unforgettable, elegant, and touching show and performance. Under Elina de Santos’ deft direction, Rachel Sorsa puts on a brave and controlled performance of a mother who is filming a farewell video to her son who’d been abducted, and ever since missing, 24 years prior. Atop Sorsa’s emotional demands is the physical deterioration of a person with terminal cancer who, on this day, and at the completion of the making of the video, intends to ingest a prescribed end-of-life cocktail, the furnishings of which sit patiently, like an all knowing scythe-bearing sentinel, on a small table beside the sofa. Sorsa’s performance is outstanding, admirable for its contained rage, contained guilt, contained heartbreak, emotions which, like a bride’s deli...

"Painted Ponies" handles emotional and thought-provoking themes. But an intense script needs a great cast, and McRae, along with director Elina de Santos, nailed it by casting Rachel Sorsa. Sorsa's performance is outstanding, bringing depth and authenticity to her role.
Sorsa’s portrayal is a journey, pulling us into the character's tragedy and connecting us to the shared human experience. My wife and I were moved and engaged, much more than with any predictable Netflix series.
Watching "Painted Ponies" was a meaningful experience that sparked conversations all weekend. The hard work and talent behind this short play offer a raw slice of life that’s often overlooked. It reminds us we're all in this together, and Sorsa’s journey fos...
