I thoroughly enjoyed There is Something Seriously Wrong with Cyrus at the Zephyr Theater. It was relatable and touching on many emotional levels. Everyone I know has mixed emotions about their parental units as they pass from childhood to adolescence. Cyrus addressed his personal growth with humor and honesty, sometimes exposing his most vulnerable moments. It is reassuring to know that he overcame his upbringing and became his own person with a little help from some very special people in his life. ...

Cyrus Deboo's solo outing has been making the rounds for some time now, and I'm really glad ! finally got a chance to see it! Much more than a coming out story, "Cyrus" is a lesson in holding your allies close to you. Cyrus Deboo's story crosses ancestral and parental lines to break free from the borders and barriers of his identity. Cyrus is an utter delight to watch, by turns hilarious, sweet, sad, sexy, silly, and vulnerable. In this tale of growing up the son of immigrant parents who don't fully understand him, we see where that makes it difficult for him to accept himself and the people who try to get close to him. He experiences heartbreak, confusion, and ultimately growth. So many laughs and heartfelt moments!...

A poignant autobiographical show that plays on Cyrus's strength as a storyteller. While many of the moments were incredibly rushed as they tried hard to cram as much content as possible, it shows promise....

This autobiographical story took me on a journey of self discovery, with all the highs and lows. Figuring out who you are isn't always the hard part, it's accepting and loving that person and living in your truth. ...
