This production has a Brechtian-style which isn’t common in LA theatre. I really enjoyed it. This is the kind of theatre that asks the audience to lean in and fully engage with what’s going on in front of them. It’s active, fresh and dynamic.
The very talented ensemble plays well together – McFadden chose the right actors to tell this story. The audience was set up with humor, then punched in the gut with intensity.
What I didn't like
I have a few things I would have personally done differently but I think overall the production is fantastic. I hope they consider touring with this or at least putting it up in other Fringe festivals in the US and internationally.
