What I liked
The show packs so many tropes into a tight space with space for all of them! It’s really impressive writing, and the cast were PERFECTLY suited to their parts, with perfect chemistry and balance between them.
What I didn't like
I got nothing here. I’d love to see a longer version, but I don’t actually know if that’d be an improvement, because this script was so smooth and well-crafted!
My overall impression
“Vote for Tom Ryan” is both everything you expect, and nothing like it at all. The show is a sharp, witty sendup of our political machines in this country and the ease with which candidates can be corrupted at all levels of government. A fantastic, tight 30 minutes that run you through an entire election night and winks at all the political stereotypes represented in the American system.
