John Wuchte seemed to have intentionally taken us literally, off the beaten path with 1972. I had no idea what to expect when I was invited to experience what I expected to be a play that followed the rules of what a play would look like. He and his cast captured every member of the audience that night; he used up every bit of air in the room to pull every one of us in, leaving us with no sense of time or any other possible reality other than the story in front if us. Truely and absolutely captivating....

Very cool, unique movement piece that presents a story that could be taken many different ways. What's really going on? Who's right? Who's wrong? How does it end? That really depends on you....

I feel that this show was absolutely phenomenal. I was blown away by the theatricality and mesmerizing elements present at every step of the show. This play does a phenomenal job using allegory to explore a very sensitive topic in an artistically engaging manner. The entire cast is incredibly talented and showed a courageous vigor in tackling the challenging subject matters of the show. I want to highlight that this show perhaps had the best pre-show offerings I’ve ever seen. John Wuchte clearly has an outstanding eye for innovative theatrical work. I highly recommend this show, I promise that you will be captivating and enthralled on both an intellectual and visceral level....

There is something to be said about intimate theatrical productions pushing the boundaries of drama, movement, music, song, and creation!! This piece made me remember my experimental theatre roots in the BEST WAYS possible because I could sense how this devised piece was a joy to manifest!! I came to 1972 having already had a delicious taste of the work that John Wuchte's ensembles are capable of sharing and this one did not disappoint! While it labels itself a "workshop" or "work-in-progress" piece, what I witnessed was definitely more polished than not. It was ensemble work at its highest level and the entire cast should be incredibly proud of this show which I am sure will only continue to blossom! ...
