Imagine the pain we can cause each other emotionally manifesting as weapons. Each person has such, and in moments of anger or fear or disappoint they will lash out. Your boyfriend slashes you. Your girlfriend bayonets you. Someone you’re dating tazes you. Another poisons you. And this is NORMAL. A fantastical nightmare made flesh. Metaphor becoming props. Dangerous props. Used to explore how we hurt each other, as well as the difficult process of learning NOT to do that.
What I didn't like
I genuinely thought the staging was a bit awkward, in terms of scene changes.
My overall impression
I found this piece haunting me to the point of aching—and I still feel that way 24 hours later. Such a simple premise, supremely theatrical and very powerful.
