I liked how Ryan was cast and played as a likable guy – the audience sympathizes with him and understands Mycah’s draw to him. I could feel myself and everyone else just gasp and feel hopeless for his last attack on her. The actor portraying him was almost too good – I was flashing back to people like him that I knew in college.
What I didn't like
The set changes were a little drawn out, perhaps with this being the first performance. It interrupted the flow of the story at times, and it seemed like they could’ve been done quicker/with more urgency.
My overall impression
Overall, I thought the show was incredibly well done in every regard. From the script to the casting to the performance to the set pieces to the blood and prosthetic wounds to the lights and sound – everything on point. I felt myself immersed in the story, feeling the pain of Mycah with every new wound and understanding her complexity. Incredible show.
