A fresh take on the very real damage inflicted in romantic entanglements. Such an interesting metaphor, and a bold exploration of the danger of keeping your heart open. ... full review

A fantastic, innovative, and moving show. Heart Held does an exceptional job of showcasing the world it creates as it offers the perfect amount of information such that the audience can understand the setting and scenes, but also take away their own inferences as nothing is ever too rigidly defined. The show accomplishes this feat through incredible casting and engaging special effects. To begin with the cast, the most glowing praise I can give is how remarkably in sync they are. The way they build off of each other and communicate as much with their body actions and facial expressions as they do through dialogue is stunning. This unspoken element works especially well when combined with the visceral nature of the breathtaking special ef... full review

Thought-provoking and clever, writer Eliran Sternin captured the vulnerability in trying to find connection when you have no idea if the other person will literally stab you in the heart and the incredible bravery it takes to keep on trying even when you are literally bleeding on the floor. With so many Fringe shows to choose from, be sure to make time to see this one. You won’t want to miss it.... full review

Heart Held at Knife Point was a beautiful and heart-wrenching journey, engrossing from start to finish. I laughed, I scoffed, I gasped, I was touched. The characters are well written, and well acted, in such a way that you’re like “ugh, I KNOW that guy. Or ten of those guys.” Or you watch Micah, our main protagonist, make messy choices that make you say “wow… I have been that girl. Trust me, DON’T DO IT GIRL.” It felt deeply evocative and reflective of a phase of life that many of us go through, and the metaphor of weapons and wounds captures the experience powerfully. Forget relationship baggage… how’s your festering, seeping wound? ... full review

What a phenomenal, hilarious, and harrowing show. From the very first scene the show is an enthralling blend of humor and honesty, remaining impressively grounded and true-to-life amidst it's metaphorical world. We gasped, we laughed, we wanted to enact our own violence on fictional characters written a little too realistically for comfort. Altogether a fantastic Fringe experience not to be missed.... full review

This show was fantastic, good acting, good effects, and an excellent plotline that masterfully integrates both overt and subtle symbolism throughout. throughout the show I was made viscerally angry with the treatment of the character and yet the clever writing still had me chuckling and engaged. Truly a show worth seeing. ... full review

Do you just want to watch another formulaic, playing it safe rom-com with no "there there"? Then this will not be the show for you. But if you want to hop on a rollercoaster of unexpected twists that will have you laughing out loud, crying and maybe even keeling over from delightful revulsion, then this is the show for you! This wonderfully intimate cast of characters will make you feel, think and feel again, all while thrilling you with some of the best body horror you will ever see on stage. For a show literally dripping in blood and oozing with brilliantly outrageous metaphor, Heart Held at Knife Point is surprisingly and warningly grounded by its endearing heroes and its bitterly cruel villains. This show will rip you open and ... full review
