Heart Held at Knife Point explores young love through a clever metaphor. Audiences watch the protagonist struggle to decide how vulnerable and open to be in her pursuit of romance, with the stakes heightened beyond our standard emotional bruising to real physical harm. ... full review

I loved the dramatic and violent, yet funny glimpse into how we handle our most volatile emotions around sex and love.... full review

This show was a fantastically creative look at relationships and really physicalizes internal feelings and insecurities around the all too familiar break up. It’s sincere look at the harm we cause to each other makes this show instantly relatable and relevant. The actors chemistry with each other on stage only adds to this. A surprise star of the show is the amazing make up effects that are somehow continuously added as the show continues, truly impressive. The show deals in very serious topics but is able to balance its very mature subject matter with a surprising amount of comedy. The audience was laughing as often as they were in stunned silence. Loved it! Very snappy writing, interesting concept that I hadn’t ever seen before, and great acting! A very ambitious presentation that was successful on all fronts as far as I’m concerned. Best show I’ve seen during the festival so far!... full review

A tour de force from all involved - a script that is as gruesome as it is gut-busting, performances charged with serious emotion, and effects that really bring home the visceral nature of the show’s themes and messages. I laughed as much as I physically recoiled in my seat! ... full review

A thought-provoking extended metaphor of love's propensity to wound. Uncomfortable relationship dynamics, shifting audience allegiance, and a quiet thrum of danger define this worrying tale of an idealistic college student so determined to make her way through love without maiming others that she becomes complicit in her own abuse.... full review
