What I liked
I loved how the dialogue in nearly every scene turned into a rap. It was soooooo well done! I absolutely DID NOT expect that.
Not to mention the transitions between scenes was seamless. There were no hiccups in their performances at all.
What I didn't like
Not up to me to say what needs to be improved, given that writing & producing plays are completely out of my range of expertise. Every playwright has a story to tell, and their own way of telling it. Therefore, I say… let them cook!
My overall impression
Such an amazing show to watch! The Transpiring takes a very heavy topic, and makes it light, campy, and fun. It’s very rare that you can find a show that makes you laugh, think, and feel, all at the same time. This entire cast does it in superb fashion. From start to finish, there isn’t one dull moment in this production — and a brilliant production it is! You can tell that a lot of work went into this piece, and it definitely paid off. Outstanding!
