Batter Up: Double Play is a marvelous continuation of Brett Moore's previous Batter Up show in 2019. Masterfully juggling random trivia, incredible mental recall, and genuinely moving stories, Brett Moore makes you feel like you're chilling at home with a beer talking to your cool uncle about who won the World Series in 1954. Batter Up is a home run, no doubt. Brett is engaging to watch, and I went in with okay baseball knowledge (not a requirement at all), and I left an even bigger fan of the sport -- it's a slam dunk in my book! But it's his affable and jovial nature as well as his ability to casually riff with the unexpected elements of the show that really seal the deal. His personal ties to baseball are interwoven with salient points about the general relevance of our national pastime, in a way that can resonate with casual and diehard fans alike (and even those who wouldn't use the "fan" label at all).
