As someone who belongs to the dead mother club, I was honestly hesitant to see this show. I am very, very glad I did, however. This show manages to combine every complex emotion ANYONE has to the loss of a parent with the rigidly specific issues of Alli’s relationship to her mom and the mom’s own specific foibles.
But it always manages to land on the lighter side of the conversation, allowing real emotions to bleed through but never getting too sappy, sentimental or—in what is often the worst part of eulogies—boring.
If I happen to die before Alli does, I can only hope that she knows me well enough by then so I can demand in my will that she makes a show eulogizing me. Because I truly cannot think of a better thank you, love you and goodbye to a parent than what Alli has done with this show.

Nothing
My overall impression
A must-see breath of fresh air, comedy, and insanely real feelings, all wrapped in the joy that is Alli Miller-Fisher.
