"Suck My Tongue" captivates with its clever narrative, weaving a tale of four distinct individuals thrust into the chaotic world of crisis management. The playwright skillfully crafts each character, offering a delightful spectrum of personalities that resonate with every audience member. From Kelly, the endearingly insecure team leader, to Gunner, the fervent conspiracy theorist, the characters embody extremes we've all encountered, eliciting laughter and introspection in equal measure.
The play is set against a scandal echoing real-life sensationalism and invites reflection on the nature of truth in today's polarized society. As the characters navigate the tumult of modern media, the audience ponders the elusive concept of objectivity...

The lights go down and we start 8 seconds into Adriano Celentano’s Prisencolinensinainciusol. If you don’t know this track, stop reading this review and go give it a whirl on YouTube and then come back. I’ll wait.

All right, great, you’re back, dug it, huh? Yeah, well that’s how this mother fucker starts. It sent a chill up my spine and butterflies in my belly. You know you are in good hands when you get a tinge of jealousy in your soul because the playwright/director chose a song that really fucks and now you can never use it.
This was my fourth Benjamin Schwartz experience and I have yet to be let down. But I’d like to say that this one was the most special. I always enjoy Benjamin’s wr...

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a Japanese drama featuring an adult grandson bathing with his grandmother, lovingly scrubbing her back while engaging in heartfelt conversation. This scene made me ponder how we, living in California, would perceive such an intimate moment. This reflection resurfaced as I watched "Suck My Tongue" by the Catharsis Theatre Collective.
In our social media-saturated world, a lifetime of 70 years of remarkable achievements can be obliterated in just a 7-second video, leaving the individual to be judged solely by that fleeting moment. People hastily draw conclusions without considering the context or backstory. Yet, great art reflects its era, delivers a powerful message, and entertains. "Suck My Tongue" masterf...

Lots of fun, and thought provoking. Very clear and different characters. Quite a funny and interesting, yet also important topical thing to make a show about. Would recommend. All the cast did a great job and the writing flowed well. Direction was also clear, and the piece felt very cohesive. If you want to see a fun show about a unique topic, definitely go see Suck my Tongue!...

Suck My Tongue is a highlight of my 2024 Fringe experience. The play is well written by Benjamin Schwartz. I am really impressed by the idea and premise of this show. I liked the Western PR team angle.
This is my third time seeing Ryan Lisman perform; he continued to impress with another layered performance.
Spencer Weitzel is one of my favorite actors and he reminded me again why. His grounded commitment in the absurdity of the situation at hand and his ability to play manic realistically makes for my favorite kind of comedy.
Brian Graves has the toughest role to play and I thought he did a great job finding the truth of the character.
I was a fan of the vignettes and I thought Jaz Dicey absolutely knocked it out of the park...

A timely subject done with humor and candor. It is a sad commentary when anyone's reputation can be ruined in a fleeting moment due to misunderstanding and ignorance, and by not taking into account the various cultural aspects of the event, thus reacting with hysteria. The PR team was great in that they presented different views on how to manage the crisis. I could relate to the story line as it follows our social commentary of today....

A fascinating delve into the world of PR for a figure who you would think wouldn't need it...until he does. I loved the philosophical examination of intention vs. execution, and the characters represented the gamut of different perspectives on the topic. The pacing was sharp and the performances solid with great commitment by all....
