Her singing the opening song and her writing and portrait of the woman.

My overall impression
From the opening moment when she sang in her lovely voice, evoking loneliness, I was drawn in; this and her humor along with her outbreaks of anger and frustration created a story of a woman I think we’d all feel for. The fact that we got to know the historical background of life in the Philippines enhanced the experience.
