What I liked
The raw energy that Young Jane emits into the universe is frenetic, poignant and sharp. The lyrics ignite in this satirical opera like a molotov cocktail thrown at the injustice of now. Think Bad Brains grit, Black Flag (with Rollins) growl, meets Fishbone’s energy, Kendrick Lamar’s metafiction and formed in utero to manifest as Young Jane, born 16 years before the story starts. Except something made a cosmic shift in the strands of combined musical DNA, creating a unique voice that could only be powered by Lorne Stevenson Jr. This show encompasses the energy of a generation born into the chaos of financial instability, raised on shooter drills and the chaos of a certain administration times deux. Lorne Stevenson Jr. brings it all to the table with narry a crumb left behind. They provide a simple setup with maximum delivery.
What I didn't like
My only quibble is I wanted it to be longer than 30 minutes. Which isn’t really a criticism just a longing. It was amazing.

From crisis and conversion camp, Young Jane emerges like a Phoenix before one act of selfless rebellion
