Calling In Love

I had no idea what to expect. I thought the poster was gorgeous so I was curious. There were so many special touches and details which made the play spill into real life from the minute you purchase your ticket. I won't give spoilers because you absolutely must go! Caroline O'Meara not only acted in this one woman show but she wrote and directed it and is brilliant in every aspect. She made us laugh and kept the audience engaged with each unique moment. Heartwarming, sweet and absolutely hilarious. It's so brilliant to go to an original stage show and be entertained from curtains up to 80's power-jamming curtains down. Calling In Love channels Lars & The Real Girl and Wes Anderson, in all the quirky, fun and heartfelt ways with Helga (Caroline O'Meara), fantastic as the idiosyncratic, but loveable heroine we ALL laugh with and can't help but root for. Even her "co-star" Harold the Mannequin gradually transcends his fibreglass body, metamorphosizing before us into a living, breathing presence that tugs at all those desires to put our chips down into believing in love.
