This is what you call a PLAY! It's timeless and unmasks those parts of humanity that are generally buried within. I thoroughly enjoyed the crisp writing delivered by two actors who fully understood the assignment. Barrett DeYoung reminds me of a young Edward Albee. Throughout the twists and turns, I wasn't quite sure what would happen next, but the end results were deeply satisfying. It was funny and dark; I was on the edge of my seat. THIS is what Fringe is all about!!! I went in without any expectations and walked out wanting more, more, more! I had a smile on my face from start to finish. This show unfolds like a wild fever dream, diving deeper and deeper into the mind of a mad clown. The puppetry work is on point and shows up in so many different forms. Do Better juxtaposes personal narrative with magic in a way that ultimately has the power to heal us all. It's vulnerable and theatrical all at once. Izzy is a self-professed "theater kid" and it shows! He uses all of the stage with clear purpose and effect. "Falling" shattered ALL of my expectations. Aaron is an incisive storyteller who knows precisely how to weave together a compelling narrative. I find it difficult to accurately describe the experience of watching this show, but it's safe to say you MUST see it if you have the chance. What a powerhouse performance! Jamar is a studied performer and his character work is impeccable. He takes a narrative that many may try to sweep under the rug and breathes new life into it. With crisp structure and seamless transitions, Black and Blue reframes and humanizes what it means to live in the skin of a Black man in the United States. Best. Dad. Never. is a brave exploration of potentially thorny topics that Haig unpacks with disarming charm and ease. He's definitely not afraid to "go there" and I appreciated that. There's a lesson for us all here. In his specific lived experiences, Haig echoes universal themes that have haunted humans for years. There are many complexities at play here, but sometimes you've gotta poke the bear. Kudos!... full review

What a wild, bizarre, and utterly captivating ride! The cast dove in headfirst and brought every word to life. I had a front-row seat, and when I tell you the actors were committed!! Hilarious, insightful, and flawlessly executed. This is storytelling at its peak, one of the most structurally sound shows I've ever seen. I laughed out loud more times than I can count, but what really captivated me was the raw authenticity on display. I was glued to Rochee's grounded, no-frills performance. Such a heartwarming show backed by a magnificent performance. Sidney effortlessly weaves the audience into her world and shares the backbone(s) that made her the woman she is today. It's fun and playful. Sidney commits to each character and honors each Ms. Edwards with love, care, and irreverence.
