An absolutely captivating and fun as hell pop rock musical. Creator/performer Anne DiGiovanni belts the hell out of some of the catchiest damn songs you'll ever get stuck in your head. The effective and often hilarious digital projections integrate beautifully into her hugely winning performance. And yet, as fun, funny and high-spirited as her trip through her romantic life is, she never cowers from the darker, more heart-breaking thread running throughout. It's a perfect blend and one of the mos...

Hello, and welcome to our polite little dinner party with fancy soups and copious alcohol and good vibes all around. Wait, good vibes? This is a Michael Shaw Fisher play, so just know the good will quickly spirals into lunacy, derangement, villainy and one of the most gob-smacking ballets of (no spoilers) you will ever see. And yet, so grounded...always so grounded by stunning performances, completely cracked but completely real. Funny, filthy, briskly paced, well directed, well scripted, delirio...

An absolute gem in a format that I've rarely (never?) seen in my years at Hollywood Fringe: An actual stand up comedy show! And while Dale is a clearly gifted stand-up with polished jokes and deep dives into hot button issues, it doesn't feel quite like any stand-up I've ever seen. It was more personal, more vulnerable, more honest than most comedy. I laughed nearly the entire time, but it was drowned out by the laughter from the entire crowd. It was a pretty raucous hour and funnier than anythin...

Having known Richard for several years, I was somewhat aware of his trials and triumphs as the neighbor to a woman with an incessantly barking dog. It was such a treat to get the full story, a touching, aggravating and hilarious story. Richard is such a gifted storyteller with an effortless charm that a simple neighbor dispute spins out into a grander tale of outrage, unresponsive government, care for others and the ability of the human heart to flip from anger to grace and kindness. ...

What bold, high-energy, hilarious and silly (in the BEST possible way) show! The boldness comes from the attempt to put a slasher movie onstage at all and it succeeds magnificently. Brisk action, rapid scene changes, big laughs and even moments that were legit scary. The performers all threw themselves into the madness and the result is one of the most inventive and funny shows at this year's Fringe....

A thrilling high-wire act that deftly merges five taut, high-energy performances into a single "solo" show entity that delights and provokes. At turns funny and touching and wildly unpredictable. A big highlight for me at this year's Fringe...

A chilling, thoughtful examination the sinister past re-surfacing in the present, presented by two talented, grounded and, at times, heart breaking performers. There is also an unnerving sense of dread that haunts the entire performance. Good stuff!...

Why aren't there more legit scary plays?! Not just creepy or unsettling (which "The Visitor" definitely is), but genuinely jump in your seat scares? This show is fantastically entertaining and actually frightened me at a few points. Rachael is a charming actor and welcomes us into this world with great energy and humor. And then, slowly, the true, terrifying nature of the show is revealed. And it's awesome. Great show!...

What an absolutely deranged, thrilling and hilarious production. There isn't a weak element in the whole damn thing. The writing, the directing, the acting. It all works so damn well. It has to have the greatest jokes-per-page ratio in the whole festival, just jam packed from start to finish. But in the hands of the exceptionally skilled cast, the jokes all land without losing the grim underpinnings of this dark, dark, dramedy. Completely unpredictable, jaw dropping moments throughout...just top ...

A delightful, sometimes dark and engaging performance about some of the most difficult topics one could imagine. And it's hilarious! Now there's a good show! Christina invites us into her darkest moments, but is so clever, and fast paced and likable that the darkness is constantly interrupted by warm candor and funny one liners. So many solo shows feature deep vulnerability, but Christina takes us to places only the bravest of us would dare to show the world. But always with charm, humor and incr...
