Handala is THE most important show at the Hollywood Fringe this year. Period.
Myriam’s performance is flawless and her writing takes us on a journey into the heart of humanity, transcending time, age, religion, and personhood— reminding audiences that to look into the eyes of another human being is to see the eyes of God.
This was one of the best solo shows I have ever seen in my life, not just at Hollywood Fringe but ever.

Katelyn is a WONDER. Her commitment and fearlessness onstage are limitless. Her writing is beautiful and poetic, her vulnerability palpable and raw, she dives into darkness and light in equal measure and we are all left the better for it. Blue is such a nuanced character who contains multitudes. I love her joy and her rage. I loved every minute of it: this is by far one of the best solo shows at Fringe this year and ever. ...

Elli is a compelling writer and storyteller and I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing her powerful journey from such a heartbreaking year that taught her so much. I was rooting for her to revel in the power of her intuition and to keep unlearning what she absorbed as a child. ...

I really enjoyed Viv’s grounded energy and subtle yet funny storytelling. I felt like I was seeing Crypto Barbie, I kept imagining a STEM Barbie version of Viv — perhaps bc of all of the patriarchy and misogyny experienced within the household, in subtle and overt ways that made her feel like she would never fit in.
To me, she was the most fascinating person living in that home and was deeply valuable as a human being, they were all ‘just Ken,’ in a world that continues to enable and empowe...

Universal themes and universal charm. Isabella’s storytelling style is
effortless and casual, and rife with dark humor. I felt like we were at a bar and she was telling me the wild story of her family and childhood.
I found myself laughing the entire time, and deeply moved by the end during her candid self-reflection and revelations. ...

Vulnerable, nuanced performances by the two lead actresses and possibly the most efficient, creative, and seamless staging/direction of a Fringe show I’ve ever seen.

Writing this the moment I got in my car to capture the feeling still rippling through my body.
Italome is a powerhouse writer and storyteller. She draws you in like an old friend and the intimacy and ease of her storytelling keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Her ability to transform into her compelling family members and other characters was so deeply subtle and nuanced. I loved each character so much, I could honestly watch separate shows about their lives— they w...

Love, Love, LOVE THIS SHOW! Megan is a phenomenal storyteller, transitioning effortlessly from character to character as she shares her insightful, brave story. What I love most about Megan's writing is that she never forces any opinions on her audience. There are no statements made...she doesn't guide you to feel any one way about her story..she simply tells it - mostly through the eyes of her 8 year old self...And what's so beautiful about that kind of writing is that we get to decided for ou...

LAUREN AND BRENDAN ARE AMAZING. They carried this entire musical by playing every character just between the two of them! And they did it effortlessly. It never looked like hard work. Even at the end of the show, they didn't even seem out of breath! AFTER SINGING FOR AN HOUR STRAIGHT AND PRACTICALLY NEVER LEAVING THE STAGE! That is a feat in and of itself. The writing is fantastic. The songs are catchy. The premise is so adorably sad and funny. Hard to believe this actually happened! I...
