The Creative Workshops have passed—check out recordings of the sessions online.*

We are so excited to share that we are launching a fall component of our Town Hall & Workshop series focusing on creative development, the writing process and mentorship in the arts. The writers’ workshops are intended for those new to writing for the stage, but even veteran Fringe participants may gain insight from an exploration of another artist’s creative process. These workshops are meant to complement the spring events, which deal mostly with marketing and registration topics. 

A small panel of veteran Fringe writers will share their experiences and answer questions November 16th & 17th at The Dragonfly (6510 Santa Monica Blvd.) at 6:30pm on both days. The November 16th session will focus on solo writing practices; the November 17th session is intended for collaborative writers and devisers. Dates for the 2016 Hollywood Fringe Festival were formally announced this week.

The seventh annual festival will take place June 9th-26th after a week of Previews taking place June 2nd-7th and an Opening Night Party on June 8th. Registration for the festival opens February 1st—create a project today!

We’re proud to say that the Hollywood Fringe Festival continues to grow! Some facts about the sixth annual Hollywood Fringe Festival:

• We sold at least 50,000 tickets this year, a 10% growth over last year.
• Since our inaugural festival in 2010, ticket sales have increased 300%.
• The festival sold an estimated $400,000 in tickets this year. The central Fringe organization doesn’t this money— all $400,000 has been returned to Fringe artists and venues.
• 285 productions participated in this year’s event, mounting nearly 1,500 performances at 39 spaces throughout Hollywood.
