Queen Mab's Alarmingly Mandatory Bridal Shower

A perfectly constructed, hour long musical comedy. Elise Dewsberry, dramaturg and new musical development extrordinaire, proves why she is such a massive staple of the LA theatre community. A phenomenally fun piece with great music to boot. ... full review

Everyone needs to see this piece. This is what theatre could and should be in 2022. A relationship drama that makes LaBute and Mamet look like amateurs; this phenomenally simple story is the voice of a generation presented without a megaphone. Ultimately it's about humans dealing with friendship and love through the scope of identity. Writer Maddox Pennington has elegantly and seamlessly molded a story that absolutely anyone could relate to. Although gender and sexuality are huge pieces of the ... full review

F#@% Julie!

Writer/Performer team Zoe Tyson and Louie Rinaldi have become two of my new favorite "creators to watch" in this community. Yesterday I had a blast watching their show: Fuck Julie. I had no idea what to expect and I, like others, assumed it was a new comedic take on Strindberg's MISS Julie. Happily I was met with an hour of cringe-worthy comedy that would've been right at home in the Search Party (HBO) writer's room. I'll be honest that I saw this with a pretty light crowd. They weren't super v... full review

Fun an joyous and poignant. Clean and clear and under control. This solo show is a must-see! Though only a recent college graduate, it is clear that Brett is destined for stardom. The piece is honest, fun and funny and with a little more development it could absolutely have a life outside of Fringe. I highly recommend this piece. ... full review

From legendary writer/performer PAMELA EBERHARDT comes her newest Fringe outing and it doesn't disappoint. While not a true original musical as you may have seen before (13th Grade; Runaway Clone) this Cabaret of nostalgia still has Pam's campy, often dark humor pulsing through the piece. A string of 90s and 00s songs tied together by a fish line of a plot about a potion that takes you back to high school. Truly just a great time listening to talented voices sing the songs of our childhood with s... full review

Tourrorists

I attended this show as an adjudicator for the Theatre Theater Playwright Award, so I'll be focusing mainly on the writing of the piece in this review. Playwright Emma Gardener has taken the collective trauma of America and twisted it into satire. When a group of insurrectionists on January 6th finally find Nancy Pelosi's office they are met by her semi-liberal assistant and plenty of confusion. The audience was with the show right away and there was plenty of laughter and guffaw as we were... full review
