How I Became A Superhero

scott langer · June 24, 2019 certified reviewer
Self-aware and hilarious, with a big heart. Daly is painfully aware of the over-saturation of super hero films, the cliches and tropes, and the classic journey of our hero. He takes this self-awareness and creates an insanely funny send-up of this tired genre.... full review

MIL GRUS

Let me preface this by saying this is positive - Pure, unadulterated chaos and madness. At times absurd or bizarre, other times charming, but I would categorize this as anarchist theatre - a show that makes the rules, hates the rules it created, makes new ones, then makes fun of them and then the audience. ... full review

THE BULLY PROBLEM

90 minutes? What 90 minutes? This show flew by with timely songs with brilliant lyrics that endlessly charm, get stuck in your head, and make you smile the rest of your day. In a world of bullies, cynics and critics- The Bully Problem reminds not just children, but everyone to stand up to evil forces and value community over opportunity.... full review

How To Adult!

Post-college life feels like a struggle to do what you think adults do, and simultaneously a yearning for the past. This show perfectly captures that uncertainty with charm, warmth, and phenomenal chemistry between actors who love and trust one another.... full review

From the moment I picked up the program riddled with typos and jabs at those who feel they want to be the orchestra, audience, and conductor- I WAS IN and knew Matt was going to bring the motha-f*ckin noise. The launch - this man knows how to do it. You understand what kind of show this will be almost instantly. There is no warming up or wasted time, from Richey's first breath we know he is lampooning the one-man show, the ego-maniacal actor, the self aggrandizing artist, other fringers, and ... full review

The Journey of The Little Prince

a dreamlike, mesmerizing, atmospheric, and inventive take on a classic story. Despite the central premise of adults losing their sense of child-like wonderment, the actors never let this get too heavy, bringing so much fun and life to a heavy concept. ... full review

Sex With Strangers

A romantic comedy with dirt underneath its fingernails- in that, like life, love has complications that go deeper than simple misunderstandings we see in most rom-coms but rather deception, mutual opportunism, trust, and believing that someone is who they currently say they are and not what their past would dictate. Ferree and Center have off the chart chemistry, actors so in-synch and on top of their game that they command your attention. ... full review
