John Dentino
John Dentino is a filmmaker and composer living in Los Angeles. He is director and producer of the feature documentary film For I Know My Weakness
(2012) and has directed and produced for music videos. He formed the band The Fibonaccis, which released several independent records in the 1980¹s, and in 1984, he directed the group’s video. Throughout the 1990’s, Dentino composed music for television documentary series such as David Lynch¹s
American Chronicles and music for interactive titles by Sony. He has composed scores for several short independent films as well as commercials and promotional spots for MTV and major broadcast networks.
Dentino studied film at California Institute of the Arts, then went on to graduate from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor¹s degree in English literature. Currently he teaches English at East Los
Angeles and Los Angeles City colleges.
His feature documentary film, For I Know My Weakness, premiered at IDFA 2012 and New Orleans and Mumbai film festivals in 2013. It is currently available to stream on Prime Video and Tubi.
