Ghost Light

I'd leave more of a review here, but the two reviewers before me pretty much said everything I wanted to say. I do give them props for effectively using well-planned and choreographed lighting gags to create scares, but that's about it. ... full review

Tape

This production lives at the intersection where a great script, strong direction and great acting meet. I'd never seen TAPE before, and the actors' nuanced, earnest and powerful performances had me sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting with baited breath to see what was going to happen next. Bravo. Worth seeing.... full review

Gumshoe McMonocle and the Strange Case of Rumpelsomething

Fun, earnest and clever retelling of a classic fairy tale featuring bold, larger than life characters brought to life by one very talented and creative puppeteer. Although this show is mostly for younger audiences, there are enough clever winks-and-nods that adults will be chuckling through the show as well. Worth seeing. :)... full review

D is for Dog

Let me preface this review by stating that I only got to see the first half of it. Don't believe the run time listed above or in the Fringe guide. This show is almost two hours long, and when I saw it last week, they started 15 minutes late (standard for normal LA Theatre, but really frustrating at Fringe when I had to leave at intermission to make a 10pm curtain for my own show). The show is well-acted and well-designed featuring an awesome set with large-scale, complex sci-fi elements as on... full review

An Evening with "Marie Curie: Rogue Scientist"

gregory crafts · June 12, 2012 certified reviewer
First and foremost, I liked this show. Mr. & Mrs. Morales' passion for Mme. Curie is evident in this show. It featured strong acting, simple but effective production values, and some strong, vivid storytelling. The only thing I would say is that the script could use a little more shaping. Mme. Curie spends two hours telling us about her life in the form of a long monologue. It's a story she tells well, but I found it hard for the show to keep my attention after a while because although the sh... full review

MIND THE GAP (between you & your audience)

It's great, getting together with like-minded creators and sharing ideas and information with one another. Cindy's workshop was well-run, informative and entertaining. It was also a wonderful networking opportunity, as I got to put some faces to names I'd only heard floating around the community before. I'm excited to start putting some of the ideas we'd discussed to good use and I can't wait for the next opportunity to brainstorm with my peers! ... full review
