This was one of the bravest pieces of theatre I've seen in a long time. Ehrin carefully balances gut-wrenching emotion with expertly crafted comedy to help the audience relive some of the worst and best parts of being a truly unique human being. Seeing BEAN was such an inspiring experience! My husband and I saw the preview on June 13 and we can't stop talking about it. Not only is Lema hilarious, but she's also a great poet. She weaves hysterically funny moments seamlessly into moments of touching poignancy. The simple brilliance of BEAN's story is that it is so easy to relate to; Lema eloquently shares those moments we've all had growing up--the ones that seem insignificant, but end up being the moments that shape us.
