Ye'ela Rosenfeld
Ye’ela started as a director in the film squad of the Israeli Army, and later worked as a director and assistant director in the Israeli film and TV industry.
She then moved to Prague where she worked as writer/director and among the rest worked with Roman Polanski directing the behind the scenes featurette for “Oliver Twist”.
After four years in Prague she moved to Los Angeles, to attend the directing program of the American Film Institute in Hollywood, where she directed four films including The Evening Journey with Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Mapel and Jack Kehler..
Ye’ela has 15 years of experience as a director. She has directed 7 narrative shorts, and several documentaries and music videos. Her shorts vary in genre and budget. She has directed in 3 different languages in 3 different countries.
In 2010 Ye’ela directed the theater show Ferdinand! written by former Czech president Vaclav Havel. The show kept running in 2011. Ye’ela’s film “Just in Case” has opened in Palm Springs Intl’ ShortFest and was showing in film festivals all across the US and around the world. It has won the Special Jury Selection Award at the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in Santa Monica and the Award of Merit at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood.
In 2016 Ye’ela has co-written “Jacob’s Dream,” a feature film funded by the co-production program of the Israeli Film Fund. Currently Ye’ela is directing the theatre show “The Physicists” which is scheduled to open during the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Ye’ela is also a mother and a passionate educator.
