Amy Waller

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand by her Cincinnati born parents, Amy received her acting training at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School. Here Amy also discovered a love for writing, improv, and devising theatre. Amy has appeared as a series regular in the New Zealand dramedy, ‘Amazing Extraordinary Friends’ and a variety of other leading roles in NZ and Australian TV, Film, commercials and theatre. Her professional theatre highlights include playing ‘Deborah’ in Mamet’s ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’, ‘Masha’ in Chekov’s’ ‘’The Seagull’ and touring two original shows which she created and starred in; ‘Death By Cheerleader,’ and her one woman show ‘GLORIA’’. ‘GLORIA’ garnered sold out houses and enthusiastic reviews in New Zealand and in 2018 had its American debut during Hollywood’s Fringe Festival where it was nominated for ‘Best Original Production’ out of 400 produced shows.

Since making the move to the US in 2015, Amy’s film and TV credits continue to expand. Amy worked on the TBS/Hulu series ‘The Detour’,created by Samantha Bee and has also appeared on ABC’s Marvel series, ‘Runaways’. In 2018 Amy played a supporting role in the US feature film, HAG, which is due for release in 2019.

Between working in film and tv, Amy strives to continue to create stories about women, told by women. She is currently developing her comedy series, Tinderellas, a new pilot ‘#superbusy’, a short ‘Highland Rd’ and the feature film version of her solo show, ‘GLORIA’.

Amy is excited to be a part of the Hollywood Fringe again this year, working alongside such an incredible Kiwi cast and sharing this beautiful true story about two incredibly resilient women from her homeland, ‘Oracles and Miracles’.
